Varanasi Region Thalassemia Welfare Society organised an event on 8th May, at Mata AnandMai Hospital which was well attended by more than 30 thalassemia major patients with their families. To begin the programme Manisha Singh a psychologist gave a talk to the group followed by blood sampling for Hb electrophorosis of extended families of the newly diagnosed patients was arranged at concessional rate.

A small awareness walk was also undertaken from the hospital to the Prime Minister Office , wherein an appeal for aid was handed over.
